In-home Laser Therapy in The Woodlands Area

This type of treatment uses a beam of light to deeply penetrate tissue and induce a biological response called “photo-bio-modulation.” This causes a physiologic change in the cells which leads to reduced pain, reduced inflammation, and increased healing speed.

The laser light is delivered through a noninvasive hand piece that is gently passed along the affected area. Your pet may feel a gentle and soothing warm sensation. Most treatments take between 5-20 minutes depending on the size of the area(s) to be treated.  Protocols are  based on the pet’s condition, size of area to be treated, and reason for treatment. Laser therapy can be used on acute conditions such as bites/cuts,  post-surgical wounds,  and sprains/strains/fractures. Chronic conditions also benefit from laser therapy. Arthritis, lick granulomas and inflammatory bowel are some of the chronic diseases shown to benefit from laser therapy.

Integrating laser therapy allows the doctor to utilize an alternative method of treatment to either supplement or replace current modalities.  It has very few side effects and is well tolerated by most pets.  More human and veterinary practices are recognizing the benefits of laser therapy and have moved to making it part of routine pain management. In-home pet laser therapy is available in The Woodlands, Conroe, Spring, Magnolia, Tomball and Kingwood.
